Cream Style Corn

1 cup water
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon flour
1/2 cup cream
1/4 cup milk
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 to 2 tablespoons cream cheese

Dehusk the corn and place them on a trivet in the Instant Pot.

Add 1 cup of water to the Instant Pot.

Secure the lid and close the vent.

Pressure cook for about 4 minutes.

Quick release when done.

When the pressure has dropped and it is safe to do so, remove the lid.

Take out the corn and let them cool for a few minutes.

Cut off the kernels and save them in a bowl.

Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet.

Add 1 tablespoon of flour and whisk together.

Pour in 1/2 cup of cream and 1/4 cup of milk, and whisk again.

Add 1/8 teaspoon black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (or 1 minced clove), and whisk.

Bring the mixture to a boil.

To make it extra creamy, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of cream cheese.

Pour in 2 cups of corn and let it simmer to a boil.
