Nutritional yeast is lower in fat and adds a cheesy flavor.

Core a large ripe tomato and roughly chop it.

Add the chopped tomato to a blender or food processor with its seeds.

Add 1 tablespoon of tomato paste, 1/2 cup of raw cashews, and 4 cups of water to the blender.

Blend until the mixture is super smooth.

Sauté some garlic in a pan.

Pour the blended sauce into the sauté pan and let it simmer.

Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste.

Add the cooked pasta to the sauté pan along with freshly chopped basil leaves.

Toss everything together until well combined.
