Put the warm milk in a bowl.
Add the cake yeast to the warm milk.
Add 1 egg to the mixture.
Pour in the melted butter and stir with a spatula.
Prepare the flour in a separate bowl and add the sugar and salt.
Add the cardamom to the flour mixture.
Mix the liquid ingredients with the flour until blended.
Prepare a clean mat and sprinkle some flour on it.
Put the dough onto the floured mat and sprinkle more flour on top as the dough feels sticky.
Knead the dough until smooth and pliable.
Shape the dough into a rounded form.
Transfer the dough to a container and cover with a clean cloth.
Let the dough rise for about 1 hour.
Press the dough to release air after it has risen.
Put the dough back on the clean mat and knead briefly again.
Divide the dough into 12 parts.
Form each part into a rounded dough ball.
Roll each dough ball to make the surface smooth.
Prepare the baking sheet by spreading it with butter and covering it with baking paper.
Place the dough balls into the pan with some distance between them.
Cover the dough with a clean cloth and let it rest for 45 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) for 15 minutes.
Break 1 egg and shake it off before spreading it over the dough.
Bake in the oven at 180°C (356°F) for 20 minutes.
