Mix 1/2 cup lukewarm water with 1/2 cup lukewarm milk in a bowl.
In a separate bowl, combine 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 3 teaspoons of instant yeast, 3 teaspoons of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
Rub 2 tablespoons of butter into the flour mixture until fully incorporated.
Gradually add the lukewarm water and milk mixture to the dry ingredients, a little at a time, mixing until combined.
Knead the dough on a floured surface until it's not sticky anymore, about 5 minutes.
Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
After the dough has risen, knead it again on a floured surface.
Divide the dough into equal portions to shape into rolls.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F).
Shape the portions into balls and place them in a greased baking dish.
Cover the rolls and let them rise again in a warm place for about 15-30 minutes until puffed up.
Prepare an egg wash by mixing 1 egg with 1/4 cup of milk.
Brush the egg wash over the rolls before baking.
Bake the rolls in the preheated oven until golden brown.
