Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs.

Mix brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and cumin in a bowl.

Rub the spice mixture evenly over the ribs, pressing it into the meat.

Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil, bone side down.

Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of foil.

Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.

In a saucepan, combine barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, mustard, honey, and liquid smoke.

Simmer the sauce over low heat for 10-15 minutes to thicken.

Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil.
