1

In a saucepan on low-medium, add 1/2 cup palm sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, 1/4 cup water, and 1/4 cup cider vinegar.

2

Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently for about 3-4 minutes until the mixture thickens.

3

Remove the saucepan from the heat.

4

Add 2 (15 ounce) cans of sliced beets, one with juice and the other drained, to the saucepan.

5

Gently stir the beets to coat them in the sauce and combine everything well.

6

Cover the mixture and let it set for 30 minutes.

7

After a couple of hours, put the beets back on the stove to heat them up.

8

Add 2 tablespoons of butter to the beets and let it melt into the sauce for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.

9

Check the sauce's thickness by running a finger over the back of a spoon; if it doesn't run together, it's done.
