Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare the onions by cutting off the top and bottom to make them sit flat.
Peel the onions.
Use a paring knife to cut a cone shape out of the middle of each onion, going about an inch down.
Season the hollowed-out onion with about 1 teaspoon of gluten-free bouillon.
Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of butter on top of the bouillon and mash it in.
Wrap the entire onion in a piece of regular aluminum foil.
Place the wrapped onion on a rimmed baking sheet or in a Pyrex dish.
Bake at 350°F for about 1 hour.
Check the onion after an hour; if there is leaking, ensure to use a rimmed baking dish.
Mix the bouillon and butter around the top of the onion after baking to avoid a mouthful of salt.
Taste the top piece of the onion to check tenderness and flavor.
