Mix 1 tablespoon of instant dry yeast with 1/2 cup of warm milk and set aside.
In a separate bowl or mixer bowl, add 5 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, and 2 teaspoons of salt.
Add 1 whole egg, 1 cup of pineapple juice, and 6 tablespoons of melted butter to the dry ingredients.
Beat the egg lightly and mix everything together.
Add the milk and yeast mixture to the bowl.
Using a dough hook attachment, mix on low speed until combined, then increase to medium low until the dough no longer sticks to the sides of the bowl.
Knead the dough into a ball and transfer it to a lightly greased bowl (using olive oil, vegetable oil, or melted butter).
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a towel and place in a warm place to proof for 1 to 2 hours or until doubled in size.
Lightly punch the dough down to deflate it and transfer it to a flat clean surface.
Roll out the dough and divide it into 15 to 16 equal size portions.
Shape the dough into balls by tucking in the sides to the center, pinching, and rolling lightly to secure the shape.
Prepare a pan by greasing it lightly and lining it with parchment paper.
Roll the bottom of each dough ball using the sides of your hands to secure it tightly before placing it in the pan.
Cover the pan with a towel or plastic wrap and set aside in a warm room for 30 minutes to an hour or until doubled in size again.
Optionally, brush the dough with egg wash (a mixture of egg and 1 tablespoon of milk).
Bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Brush the warm bread with honey and butter before serving.
