Rinse half a bag of frozen yucca and place it in a pot to cook on medium-high heat.
Add a little bit of salt to the pot with the yucca and cook until tender but not falling apart.
Remove the yucca from the stove and let it rest.
Remove the vein from the yucca and begin mashing it while it's still warm.
Add cheese to the mashed yucca for extra flavor (optional).
If the yucca is too dry, add 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of milk to achieve the desired consistency.
Form the yucca mixture into balls, then create a hole in the center to fill with meat.
Shape the filled yucca into an oval or football shape and place on parchment paper to cool completely before frying.
Heat enough oil in a pan to cover the patties for frying.
Fry the patties until they reach a golden color, ensuring they do not fall apart during cooking.
If the patties start to bust open, it may be due to insufficient oil or cooking time.
Serve the fried patties with hot sauce or any dipping sauce of your choice.
