Reduce heat to medium and simmer uncovered for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

After 15 minutes, add 1 cup of chopped ham to the pot.

Add 1 cup of sour cream and 1.5 cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese to the pot.

Blend until the cheese has melted and the soup is well combined.

Turn off the heat and serve.
