Pour in 1 cup of sugar and 1/4 cup of water into the bowl with cranberries.

Zest the whole orange to get about a tablespoon of zest and add it to the bowl.

Peel the orange and cut it into 1-inch chunks, then add the chunks to the bowl.

Mix all the ingredients together until well combined, ensuring the sugar is dissolved.

Cover the bowl with Saran wrap, poking holes in it to allow steam to escape.

Microwave on high for about 15 minutes, stirring halfway through the cooking time.
