2 tablespoons brown sugar, tightly packed
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup grated asiago cheese
3 cups all-purpose or bread flour
1 heaping teaspoon bread machine yeast
2 tablespoons honey
1 egg

Add 1 cup of lukewarm water to the bread maker.

Add 1 tablespoon of butter or margarine.

Add 2 tablespoons of tightly packed brown sugar.

Add 1 teaspoon of salt (table salt is used).

Add 1/2 cup of grated asiago cheese.

Add 3 cups of all-purpose or bread flour.

Add 1 heaping teaspoon of bread machine yeast.

Start the dough cycle on the bread maker (takes about 1.5 hours).

Once the dough is ready, roll it out to about half an inch thick using a rolling pin.

Use a bagel cutter to cut out bagels from the rolled dough.

Place the bagels on a lined cookie sheet (copper liner or parchment paper recommended).

Re-roll any leftover dough and cut out more bagels.

Set the bagels aside while boiling water in a medium-sized pot (half-filled).

Once the water is boiling, add 2 tablespoons of honey and stir until dissolved.

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Drop the bagels into the boiling water (2-3 at a time) for 30 seconds to 1 minute per side.

Remove the bagels with a slotted spoon and place them back on the cookie sheet.
