Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. 1Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. 2In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. 3Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly to form a roux.
  4. 4Gradually whisk in the milk, continuing to stir until the mixture thickens and bubbles.
  5. 5Reduce heat to low and stir in the cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. 6Add salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder to the cheese sauce, stirring to combine.
  7. 7Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce, mixing well to coat the pasta evenly.
  8. 8Transfer the mac and cheese to a greased baking dish if baking, or serve directly from the pot if not.
