Homemade Corn Tortillas – Corn Tortilla Recipe Easy From Scratch

Whole grain masa offers more fiber, while corn flour can be more affordable.

Add 1 cup of very fine white corn tortilla flour to a medium-sized bowl.

Add 1 cup of room temperature water to the bowl.

Mix the flour and water with your hands until completely combined.

Cover the masa and let it sit for about 20 to 30 minutes.

Remove the masa from the bowl and divide it into equal parts.

Roll each piece into a ball, aiming for about 8 to 10 tortillas from this batch.

Using a tortilla press, flatten each ball into a tortilla. If you don't have a tortilla press, you can roll it with a rolling pin or place it between parchment paper and press it down with a large plate.

Heat a comal or skillet over medium to high heat.

Add the tortilla to the comal and cook for about 1 minute on each side.
