1 kg frozen raw octopus
2 medium potatoes
1/2 tsp coarse salt
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp sweet and spicy paprika

We take out the frozen octopus and remove the tray.

Place the octopus in cold water and massage gently to promote thawing.

Wash the potatoes well and cut them into thick slices without removing the skin.

Cook the octopus in a pot with water.

When the water starts to boil we scare the octopus: 2 seconds in water, 5 seconds out, 3 times.

Then let it simmer for 25 minutes.

Turn off the heat and let it rest for another 20-25 minutes.

Cook the potatoes in octopus water for 20-30 minutes.

Place the cooked potatoes, cachelos, on a wooden plate and with scissors cut the octopus into pieces.

Season with salt, paprika mixture and olive oil at taste.
