1

Preheat a deep sauté pan on medium heat.

2

Add 2 lbs of ground sirloin to the pan and break it up.

3

Season the meat with 2 tablespoons of onion powder, 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, 1 tablespoon of ground cumin, 1 tablespoon of garlic salt, 1 tablespoon of complete seasoning, and 1 packet of sazon Goya.

4

Add 1 tablespoon of chili powder, 0.5 tablespoon of paprika, and 1 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper. Stir well to combine.

5

Add 1 large finely chopped yellow onion and stir.

6

Grate 4 large garlic cloves directly into the pan and mix everything together.

7

Add 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour to thicken the mixture and stir.

8

Add a 10 oz can of mild Rotel and 3 cups of filtered water. Stir to combine.

9

Increase the heat to bring the mixture to a boil.

10

Once boiling, decrease the heat to 2 or 3, cover, and let it cook for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.

11

After 30 minutes, stir the mixture and cover again to cook for another 15 minutes.

12

After 45 minutes, carefully remove the lid, stir, and remove the bay leaf.

13

Turn the heat down to low and use a hand blender to blend the meat slightly for consistency.

14

Stir and keep on low uncovered to reduce for about 10 more minutes.

15

Once ready, turn off the heat and stir the meat again.

16

Assemble the tacos by placing a little meat at the bottom of the taco shell, adding diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, sour cream, and shredded cheese.
