1.5 tablespoons yellow chili paste
1 tablespoon ginger, grated
200 grams smoked bacon

Soak 370 grams of split green peas in water for about 4 hours.

In a pot, heat some olive oil until hot.

Add the finely chopped onion to the pot and sauté for about 3 minutes until translucent.

Add 1.5 tablespoons of garlic paste, 1.5 tablespoons of yellow chili paste, and 1 tablespoon of grated ginger to the pot.

Season with salt and pepper to taste, being careful not to add too much salt at first.

Cook the mixture for about 3-4 minutes to develop the flavors.

Add 200 grams of smoked bacon to the pot and sauté for an additional 2 minutes.

Add the soaked split green peas to the pot and stir well.

Pour in about 2 to 3.5 cups of water, enough to cover the peas.
