Heat a splash of olive oil and a tablespoon of butter in a large pot over high heat.
Add the seafood mix and sauté for about 5 minutes, then remove everything with the liquid and set aside.
In the same pot, add more olive oil, two cloves of garlic, a long onion, and a red onion; sauté until fragrant.
Add a large grated carrot for color and texture.
Add 2 cans of diced tomatoes and cook on high for about 10-15 minutes.
Blend the mixture in a powerful blender until smooth, then return it to the pot.
Add the squid, octopus, and fish cubes to the pot and cook on medium heat.
Pour in 1 cup of white wine, 1/2 cup of canned coconut milk, and 2 tablespoons of cream of coconut.
Add 1/2 cup of heavy cream, a pinch of parsley, and 1/2 cup of rum.
Season with 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 tablespoon of salt.
Return the reserved seafood mix to the pot and simmer on medium heat for about 12 minutes, covered.
