Introduce the dish and mention the importance of eating fish once a week.
Show the ingredients: yogurt, mayonnaise, onion, apple, cucumber, sweetener, black pepper, and herring.
Use herring that is not oil-packed but has a smoky flavor.
If using oil-packed herring, soak it in milk for an hour to reduce saltiness.
Add a good tablespoon of yogurt to a bowl.
Add two tablespoons of mayonnaise to the bowl.
Add a splash of sweetener to the mixture.
Do not add salt as the fish is already salty.
Mix the dressing ingredients together.
Add a tablespoon of cucumber juice to the dressing and mix again.
Peel and dice the apple into small cubes and add to the bowl.
Dice two to three pickles and add them to the mixture.
Finely chop the onion and add it to the bowl.
Cut the herring into bite-sized pieces and add to the bowl.
Stir everything together until well combined.
Chill in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours before serving.
