Slice the cucumber and place it in a bowl.

Add salt to the cucumber and let it sit for a few minutes to draw out moisture.

In a separate bowl, mix together garlic, onion, green onion, sugar, gochugaru, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.

Combine the cucumber with the seasoning mixture and toss well.

Sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired.
