Calculate chickpea amounts: 35g of raw chickpeas equals about 100g cooked.
Remove excess broth if necessary to avoid overfilling the pot.
Add vegetables such as carrots, potatoes, and garlic to the pot.
Add one tablespoon of salt to the mixture, adjusting to taste later.
Close the lid and set the stew menu for 35 minutes to cook the chickpeas and vegetables.
Prepare the meatballs (pilotas) using 75% ground beef and 25% ground pork, or to your preference.
Soak stale bread in milk and mix with the meat, adding spices like pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Form large meatballs, using flour if necessary to prevent sticking.
Let the meatball mixture rest for juiciness before cooking.
After the stew is done, check if the chickpeas are tender.
Remove chickpeas and vegetables without draining the broth.
Add the meatballs to the pot and set the stew menu for another 10 minutes to cook them.
Serve the dish with whole grain bread or pasta.
