Start by cooking black beans in the instant pot or use canned beans.
Reserve a little bit of the cooking liquid from the beans for added creaminess.
In a large skillet, heat the pan until hot.
Add 1 to 2 cups of black beans along with the reserved liquid.
Add 1/2 to 1 cup of water to the skillet.
Sprinkle in bay leaf, onion powder, taco seasoning, cumin, and oregano.
Mix the ingredients together in the skillet.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer.
Let the beans simmer for 15 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
Once thickened, squeeze fresh lime juice into the beans and stir.
Remove the bay leaf and discard it.
Transfer the beans to a serving container and top with fresh cilantro before serving.
