Gather ingredients: 2 cups corn masa, 1.5 cups water, and salt.
Add a sprinkle of salt (about 0.5 teaspoon) to the masa.
Pour all the water into the masa and start mixing with your hands.
Add water slowly to avoid making the dough too wet; mix until lumps are gone and it has a play-dough-like consistency.
Let the masa rest for about 5 minutes.
Roll a small ball of masa (slightly bigger than a golf ball) in your hands.
Wet your hands slightly to help shape the masa ball and smooth out any lumps.
Flatten the masa ball slightly and use one hand to round it while the other hand flattens it out.
Pat the masa back and forth in your hands to achieve a thin tortilla, rounding the edges as you go.
Place the flattened tortilla on a preheated griddle and repeat the process for additional tortillas.
