Taler Bora

OtherXXother
Servings4
1 pc Tal (Palm Fruit)
½ cup Grated Coconut
½ cup Powdered Sugar
½ cup Suji (Semolina)
½ cup Flour
½ tsp Baking Soda
½ tbsp Ghee
500 ml Oil (for frying)
1

Take a medium sized Palm fruit and take off its crown.

2

Peel off the black skin from the fruit.

3

Separate the Seeds or the Kernels. In a medium sized Palm fruit there will be 2 – 3 seeds inside.

4

Take a steel rice strainer for grinding the kernels to extract the pulp and place it upright on a plate.

5

Start grinding the palm kernels to extract the maximum flesh out of the sugar palms.

6

In a bowl, strain the extracted pulp to separate the extra fiber and add ½ cup of grated Coconut, ½ cup of Powdered Sugar, ½ cup of Semolina or Suji, ½ cup of Flour, ½ tsp of Baking Soda and ½ tbsp of Ghee into the pulp.

7

Combine all the ingredients thoroughly and rest the mixture for an hour at least for better results.

8

In a deep frying pan, heat the oil.

9

When the oil is ready, release the small round-shaped fritters or boras into the oil.

10

Fry on medium flame until the fritters turn golden brown in colour.

11

Taler Bora is now ready and it tastes delicious when served hot!
