In a bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast; let it sit until frothy.
In a large mixing bowl, mix together the flour and salt.
Add the yeast mixture and softened butter to the flour mixture; knead until a soft dough forms.
Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
Bring water to a boil and add baking soda to it.
Shape the risen dough into buns and boil each bun in the baking soda water for about 30 seconds.
Remove the buns and place them on a baking sheet.
Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and bake until golden brown.
