1kg Beef mince
2 carrots
2 onions
4 sheets shortcrust pastry
1 cup beef stock
1/2 cup tomato paste
2 tbls flour
milk for brushing
salt & pepper to season

Preheat the oven to the appropriate temperature for baking.

Finely chop the onions and carrots.

In a pan, cook the beef mince until browned.

Add the chopped onions and carrots to the pan and cook until softened.

Stir in the flour, then add the beef stock and tomato paste, mixing well.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Roll out the shortcrust pastry and cut into circles to fit your pie tins.

Fill each pastry circle with the beef mixture.

Cover with another pastry circle and seal the edges.

Brush the tops with milk for a golden finish.
