Tomato Salsa for Pupusas

Bell peppers are milder and more affordable.

Lemon juice provides similar acidity at a lower cost.

Roughly chop the tomatoes, bell pepper, jalapeño, garlic, and onion.

Put the chopped vegetables into a blender.

Add 1/2 cup of water if needed, but skip if tomatoes are ripe.

Blend the mixture until smooth.

Preheat a saucepan and add a couple tablespoons of olive oil.

Pour the blended mixture into the preheated saucepan.

Add 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, and chicken bouillon powder to the saucepan.

Season with salt to taste.

Simmer the salsa on low heat for about 15 minutes until it reduces and the color intensifies.
