Whole wheat flour adds fiber and nutrients while bread flour can enhance texture.

Mix sugar and yeast in warm water and let it rest until bubbling.
In a stand mixer with a hook attachment, add all-purpose flour and salt and mix to incorporate.
Add the bubbling yeast mixture to the flour mixture gradually until combined.
Knead the dough in the mixer for about 15 minutes until soft and pliable.
Grease a bowl with a little vegetable oil, place the dough inside, and cover it with plastic wrap. Let it rest in a warm area for 45 minutes to 1 hour until doubled in size.
Remove the plastic wrap, punch down the dough, and knead for just 1 minute to remove air.
Let the dough rest again for 30 minutes, covered in a warm place, until doubled in size.
Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each into a log. Let them rest for 5 minutes.
Brush the tops of the logs with vegetable oil and cover them with plastic wrap for another 5 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C).
Slice each log with a sharp knife down the side.
Bake the rolls in the oven for 20 minutes without opening the door.
