Video Description

PROHOK : fermented fish Ktis: coconut milk/ coconut cream There are many versions of how to make PROHOK Ktis base on the region and households (Not all Cambodian families cook the same way or use the same ingredients) In this video, I’m sharing my mom’s recipes that she cooked for us many years. My mom still doesn’t want to show her face in my YouTube videos but since this is her recipe I recorded her secretly ( still she caught me filming her 😁) In this recipe you will need : - 3 pounds ground pork= 1.36 kg( 2 pounds of regular ground pork+ 1 pound of ground pork belly) We need some fat so that out PROHOK Ktis is not too dried . - 2 tablespoons of PROHOK ( If you like PROHOK you can add more but you have to cut down on the fish sauce) - 5 tablespoons of sugar /palm sugar - 5 tablespoons of red chili paste ( Check out my video how to make red chili paste) - 1 cup of coconut milk = 240 ml - 2 tablespoons of dried shrimps ( If you have Cambodian smoked fish is even better) - 3 tablespoons of cooking oil - 1 tablespoon of chicken flavor soup mix ( substitute for MSG) - 2 tablespoons of fish sauce - 1 cup of water Sound track: Why by Freckleland
