DONGNAE PAJEON RECIPE (As seen in the drama "Bon Appétit, Your Majesty" Episode 7) Ingredients: For the Pancake: * 10 small or 5 large stalks of green onion * 150 gr wheat flour * 50 gr potato starch or corn flour * 250 ml cold water or stock * 1 tsp gochugaru (Korean chili powder) * ½ tsp salt * ¼ tsp pepper * ½ tsp sugar * 1 tsp baking powder * 1 beaten egg * Vegetable oil For the Dipping Sauce: * 2 tbsp soy sauce * 1 tbsp vinegar * 1 tsp sugar or honey * 1 stalk chopped green onion * 1 tsp roasted sesame seeds --- Instructions: 1. **Prepare the Ingredients:** * Beat one egg and set it aside. * Clean, wash, and drain the green onions. Pat them very dry with a kitchen towel. * Trim off the roots and split the thick white parts of the onions in half lengthwise. 2. **Make the Batter:** * In a bowl, mix the flour, potato starch/corn flour, water, gochugaru, salt, pepper, and sugar. Stir until the batter is smooth. 3. **Cook the Pajeon:** * Place a non-stick pan on the stove and heat it with a generous amount of oil. * Once the oil is hot, swirl it around and use tongs to arrange the green onions parallel to each other in a rectangular shape. * Let the green onions cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. * Evenly pour the batter over the green onions. * While the pancake is cooking, gently press and shape it with your spatula. You can also swirl the pan or use the spatula to spread the batter into any gaps. * Pour the beaten egg over the top of the pancake. * Flip the pancake once the bottom is crispy and golden brown. Cook for a few more minutes until the other side is also golden and crispy. * Transfer the pajeon to a serving plate. 4. **Serve:** * In a small bowl, combine all the dipping sauce ingredients. * Serve the pajeon hot with the dipping sauce on the side.
