Bistek is Filipino Beef steak is made with thin slices of meat simmered in a sauce made by soy sauce, garlic, pepper, onion, calamansi juice and sprite. Aside from the usual, Bistek recipe holds a special ingredient which makes the Bistek Tagalog sweeter and more tender and is perfect with steamed rice. See the recipe for yourself to find out!! #beefsteak #beefsteakrecipe #bistek Written recipe at https://yummykitchentv.com/beef-steak-bistek/ INGREDIENTS 1/2 kilo beef sirloin 1/4 cup soy sauce 8 cloves of garlic (minced) 1 teaspoon ground pepper 1 cup sprite (or any lemon soda) 1 medium onion (sliced in rings) 3 tablespoon calamansi juice (or lemon juice) DIRECTIONS Prepare the beef sirloin and place them in a bowl. Add the soy sauce, calamansi juice, 4 tablespoons minced garlic, ground pepper and Sprite. Mix all the ingredients well. Cover the bowl with a plastic wrap and then let it marinate for 1 hour or overnight. Heat some oil in a pan and saute the onion rings. Once the onion softens, remove them from the pan. Saute the rest of the minced garlic and saute until golden and crispy. Set aside. Using the same pan, sear the beef first (reserve the marinade). Then, add the marinade. Allow it to cook until the sauce thickens. Transfer the beef steak in a serving dish and top it with onion rings and crispy fried garlic. Serve this with a bowl of hot steaming rice. Yummy!
