Ingredients

  • 500g minced meat (lamb or beef)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Skewers (wooden or metal)

Instructions

  1. 1In a large mixing bowl, combine the minced meat, chopped onion, garlic, ginger, green chilies, and coriander leaves.
  2. 2Add the garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt to the mixture. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  3. 3Add the breadcrumbs and beaten egg to the mixture. This will help bind the kebabs together. Mix until well incorporated.
  4. 4Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion around a skewer, forming a long kebab shape.
  5. 5Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat.
  6. 6Place the skewers on the grill or in the oven and cook for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the kebabs are cooked through and have a nice char.
  7. 7Once cooked, remove the kebabs from the skewers and serve hot with mint chutney and sliced onions.
  8. 8Garnish with lemon wedges and fresh coriander if desired.
