Video Description
Hey friends! I did a video for my Instagram and I know I haven't shared content in monthssss (sorry!) so I wanted to share this here because I LOVE the recipe!!! Recipe is below! (Please don't copy my recipe without my express permission, thank you!) This is a delicious vegan appetizer you can make with friends and family. Be sure to share this video with your friends if you try this vegan recipe! 1 cup raw walnuts, soaked for 30 minutes 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar 2 tablespoons soy sauce 2 tablespoons sesame oil 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 tablespoon freshly minced ginger (1 tablespoon) 8 ounces of pressed and crumbled firm or extra firm tofu 1 cup diced green cabbage ½ cup sliced scallions 25-28 dumpling wrappers * Soak the walnuts in hot or boiling water for at least 30 minutes. Drain. * Into your food processor, add in the walnuts, rice wine vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and rice vinegar and blend until ground down, about 2 minutes, scraping down occasionally. * Add in the tofu. Pulse to combine about 20 times until combined. Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary * Add to a bowl and set aside. * Chop your cabbage and your scallion. * Add in the cabbage, scallion and mix together thoroughly. * Lightly flour a baking sheet. * Line dumplings up beside it. You want a small bowl of water, the dumplings, and a baking sheet that you lightly flour. * Add in about two teaspoons of filling, then use the water on your fingers to line your edges. * Fold over your dumpling wrappers with pleats on the edges. So I'm left-handed and it took me a while to realize I was trying to follow a method for right-handed people. Hold it in your non-dominant hand, and use your dominant hand to crimp and close. * Place onto the flour lined baking sheet and continue until finished. * Heat a pot over medium-high heat and brush with sesame oil. * Line up the side of the dumpling by side in the pot. Add water about halfway up the dumplings. I used a regular 9" pan and added about a ⅓ cup water up the pot. Cover with the lid and let it steam for about 5 minutes. * After the water evaporates, remove the cover. Add in about ½ teaspoon to 1 teaspoon of extra sesame oil in the pot along the bottom of the dumplings. * Allow to crisp up (don't put the cover back on) for about 2 minutes until crispy. * Remove from the pan and onto your plate. * Prep a little dip, made up of rice vinegar and soy sauce, and sprinkle scallion on top. * Dip in, and enjoy!
