Video Description

In this video, I'm sharing the Ūdens kliņģeri: The Secret Latvian Recipe for Soft Pretzels. Ūdens kliņģeri is a simple, but delicious, pretzel recipe that you can make at home. If you're looking for a delicious and easy pretzel recipe, then you need to watch this video! Ūdens kliņģeri is a classic Latvian recipe that is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. By following this recipe, you'll be able to make delicious and soft pretzels that everyone will love! When I first visited Latvia I tried these soft pretzels called Ūdens kliņģeri and I was immediately hooked but they only seemed to be available from one or two exclusive bakeries and then eventually from nowhere so I decided to learn to bake them myself. Here's the recipe: 500gm Flour (bread or all purpose) 180gm warm milk 2 tsp dried yeast 180gm sour cream or natural yogurt 2 tsp baking powder 2 tsp salt 1 egg For the water bath 2 tsp of baking soda (or more if yo wish) 1tsp of salt (or more if you wish) For the toppings you can use whatever you like or just leave them plain, coat with a egg wash before baking. https://paypal.me/baltichomesteaders A simple way to contribute and help us produce these videos. Our Story: In 2018 we left the UK to come to Gita’s family homestead here in north Latvia, not far from the Estonian border and now we live somewhere nowhere in the middle of a forest in a house built by Gita’s grandfather. We’re videoing our journey and trying to give you some insights into how we’re living here.
