It is a spicy-sweet-sour stock traditionally prepared using tamarind, or Lemon juice, or Tomatoes, or Pineapple, dried green mango juice as a base along with jaggery, garlic, black pepper, chili pepper, cumin, and other spices as seasonings. It is eaten with rice or consumed as a spicy soup. Eeya sombu has lost its traditional space in our fast-paced modern life. When rasam cooked in this vessel, the rasam acquires a unique smell and flavor. Eeya sombu is made of tin alloy, this metal's melting point is around 200 degrees Celsius.
