It's important to sift the icing sugar at least twice before adding it to the butter. Don't skip this step as it make sure the buttercream is smooth and not gritty. 2. Use softened butter but make sure butter is not too soft or too hard. If you want perfect buttercream. 3. Beat the butter till it's light, creamy and fluffy before adding sugar. 4. When adding icing sugar and butter, you can use spatula or mixer on low speed for mixing. Then at high speed beat for around 30 seconds to a minute. 5.
