Layered Chocolate Cake with Cream Cheese Buttercream Frosting - A family's favourite... soft, moist and very delicious, and blends well with the yummy cream cheese buttercream. #layeredchocolatecake #moistchocolatecakerecipe #moistchocolatecake #creamcheesebuttercreamrecipe LAYERED CHOCOLATE CAKE RECIPE Ingredients: 2 cups flour 1 2/3 cups sugar 2/3 cup cocoa powder 2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 2 eggs 1 cup buttermilk 1 cup vegetable oil 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1 cup boiling water 1 tsp instant coffee 1. Pre-heat oven to 160 degrees Celsius (conventional). (140 degrees Celsius convection oven) 2. In a bowl, mix all dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and cocoa powder. 3. Add eggs, buttermilk and vegetable oil. Mix well. Set aside. 4. In a small bowl, pour boiling water, then add vanilla extract and coffee. Mix well. 5. Pour boiling water mixture into the batter. Mix well. 6. Pour into two 16cm round pans. 7. Bake at 160 degrees celsius (conventional oven). (140 degrees Celsius convection oven) 8. Let them cool down completely on a rack 9. Remove cake from the pans, then cut the dome top. 10. Make cream cheese buttercream frosting (recipe below). 11. Top one cake with 1/3 icing, then put the other cake on top of it. 12. Cover cake with the rest of the icing. 13. Top with cake crumbs. Slice and serve. CREAM CHEESE BUTTERCREAM FROSTING Ingredients: 112g unsalted butter 168g cream cheese 285g icing sugar 3/4 tsp vanilla extract 3/4 tbsp lemon juice Mix altogether until fine, soft and smooth.
