Video Description

Years ago, I heard an interview with Elvis Presley's personal chef of 14 years, Miss Mary Jenkins, who described the morning when the iconic sandwich was perfected. If you want to learn how to make peanut butter and banana sandwich the way the king of rock 'n roll preferred, watch the video and follow the recipe. There are many imitations out there that use bacon or leave out the secret, most important steps that will help you master how to make the Elvis sandwich, and be the King of your kitchen. Don't forget to watch the video interview read the article in the links below. Thank you, thank you very much! https://youtu.be/eBVGMjbLZb4 https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/elvis-presley-cook-mary-jenkins-said-one-person-helped-perfect-peanut-butter-banana-sandwich.html/ Ingredients: 2 slices of bread (thick sliced if possible) Peanut butter (1/4 cup or so) 1 banana (sliced) 5 1/3 tbs butter Directions: Toast bread slices to light golden. Let cool for 1-2 minutes. Spread peanut butter generously onto toast and lay banana slices in single layer on one side and then close sandwich. In skillet, heat butter until melted, and then place sandwich into butter. On low to medium heat, cook sandwich, turning regularly. Move sandwich around pan to help soak up butter. "Keep turning and turning" as Miss Mary Jenkins suggests until both sides of sandwich are browned and until butter is completely absorbed. Lower heat if necessary to prevent bread from burning while soaking up butter. Remove from pan and let rest for about a minute before cutting in half. Enjoy! This channel is dedicated to my grandfather, William M. Britton, who lifted me up to the edge of his stove from the time I could first hold a spatula, so that I could help stir the gravy, turn fried chicken, and flip pancakes. Through his caring and patience, I acquired a skill and a passion that has lasted a lifetime.
