Upgrade your Daal recipe with Shahi Daal Mash and let us know how it turned out. #DaalMash #ShahiDaalMash #SooperChef Shahi Mash Dal Black lentil skinless (mash dal) 2 cups Water (for soaking) as required Water (for boiling) as required Oil 1/4 cup Onion puree 1 cup Red chili powder 1 ½ tbsp Salt 1 tsp / to taste Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp Cumin powder 1 tbsp Coriander powder 1 tbsp Red chili flakes 1 tsp Boneless chicken strips 250 g Boiled lentil 2 ½ cups Ingredients for Tarka: Oil 2-3 tbsp Red button chilies (Dried) 4-5 Ginger (julienne) 1/4 cup Garam masala powder 1 tbsp Green chilies 2-3 Directions for Shahi Dal Mash Preparation: 1. In a bowl add dal mash and water, soak for 30 minutes. 2. In a pot heat water and bring it to boil. Add soaked dal and boil until 80% done. 3. In another pot heat oil and add onion puree, cook for 4-5 minutes. Add ginger garlic paste and cook for a minute. 4. Add tomatoes and cook until tomatoes get soft. 5. Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, red chili flakes, salt, coriander powder, and cook until oil separates. 6. Add chicken and cook until chicken is half done. Now add boiled dal and cook until it’s fully tender. Your shahi dal mash is ready. Directions for Tarka Preparation: 7. In a pan heat oil and add red button chilies, ginger, green chilies and garam masala powder. Cook for a minute. 8. Pour the prepared tarka over dal mash and garnish with green coriander. Your Shahi Dal mash is ready to serve. Preparation time: 10-15 mins Cooking time: 30-40 mins Servings: 4-5
