Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

  1. 1Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. 2In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  3. 3Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet, sautéing until the garlic is fragrant and lightly golden, about 2 minutes.
  4. 4Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil.
  5. 5If the pasta seems dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  6. 6Season with salt and black pepper, mixing well.

  8. 8If desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
