Video Description

I found this vintage Jello salad recipe in a Google search. This recipe calls for a 1lb can of pears. I could only find a 14.5oz can so that’s what I used. You can get creative with the flavor combinations if you like. Enjoy! 1 3oz package lime jello or lemon lime jello ¼ TSP salt 1 can (1lb) pear halves 1 cup boiling water 1 TBSP lemon juice 6oz cream cheese 1/8 TSP ground ginger Dissolve Jello and salt in boiling water. Drain pears, and reserve ¾ cup of the pear syrup (adding water if needed). Add syrup and lemon juice to Jello mixture. Dice pears, set aside. Measure 1 ¼ cups of Jello mixture and pour into 1 quart Jello mold. Chill until set but not firm. Meanwhile, soften cream cheese until creamy. Add remaining Jello mixture and ginger. Blend until smooth and chill until very thick. Fold in pears and spoon carefully onto Jello mold and level out. Chill thoroughly. Unmold onto crisp lettuce leaves. Makes about 4 cups or 8 side salads. Music curtesy of Epidemic Sound: Song: Careful Feet Artist: Tiki Tiki
