In this video, we show you a Sweet Zarda Rice Recipe. Zarda is an Aromatic Sweet Yellow Rice that was introduced by the Persians and is very popular in the Subcontinent. This is our family Meethe Chawal (Sweet Rice) recipe that we making with orange. Sweet Zarda Rice is a delicious dessert that is often served during special occasions, and in our family recipe, the use of the fresh orange juice and zest really takes this dish to the next level. To make the Zarda (Meethe Chawal) Recipe, you will need: Boiling water 1/4 tsp orange food colour 4 slightly crushed cardamom pods (elaichi) 4 whole cloves (laung) 2 small cinnamon sticks (dalchini) 1 star anise (badiyan ka phool) 1 tsp ghee squeeze of fresh lemon juice 1 cup soaked rice 1 tbs ghee small cinnamon stick (dalchini) 2 cloves (laung) 1/4 cup dried mixed fruits of your choice (raisins, sultanas, currants) roasted almonds (or nuts of your choice) freshly squeezed juice of half an orange 1/2 cup sugar (or up to 1 cup if you like it sweeter) 1/2 tsp green cardamom powder (elaichi) 1 tsp kewra water 1 tsp rose water zest of 1 orange Sweet Zarda rice is often served with pulao rice.
