Ingredients

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. 2In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. 3Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
  4. 4Add the marinara sauce and heavy cream to the skillet, stirring to combine.
  5. 5Season the sauce with red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. 6Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy.
  7. 7Add the cooked penne pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly.
  8. 8Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through, allowing the pasta to absorb some of the sauce.
  9. 9Remove from heat and garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
