Thit Kho Trung aka Braised Pork Belly and Egg, Vietnamese Style. Ingredients: - 2-3 lbs. Pork Belly. - 8- 10 Eggs. - Half Onion (Red, Yellow or White). - Medium Ginger. - Cinnamon Stick. - Star Anise. - Fresh Garlic. - Coconut Oil. - Cane Sugar. - Fish Sauce. - Soy Sauce/Coconut Amino Acids Pork Prep: Parboil the pork belly in some water with the fresh garlic, cinnamon & star anise for 30 minutes. Rinse with cold water and cut into rectangles set aside. Hard Boiled Egg Prep: Boil your eggs for 10 minutes. Soak in cold water for 20-30 minutes. Peel and set aside. Braise: Melt some coconut oil and avacado oil combo and add 2 tbsp of sugar and dissolve until turns a slight brownish color. Add your pork and saute for a minute then add your onions and ginger. Continue the saute and add your salt, white pepper, paprika, black pepper, coconut amino or soy sauce & fish sauce. Fill up with 4-5 cups of high quality water and bring to a low boil and cover with the lid for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes taste the broth and season with salt and pepper accordingly. Cover for another 30 minutes adding your hard boiled eggs for the last 15 minutes and it is ready to eat. Enjoy with rice. Thank you all for watching!
