Video Description

Come join us for breakfast in Bratislava, Slovakia as we visit cafe Mondieu to sample a range of different breakfast food items for our late morning brunch. A typical Slovak breakfast, upon research, is typically meat heavy but after having some really heavy dinners of late we decided to order a lighter menu with some fancy drinks. This restaurant in Bratislava served up delicious breakfast and high quality drinks. As a bonus this is probably one of the last meals we've had outside for the year. We'd highly recommend checking it out. We ordered the following food items for breakfast in Bratislava, Slovakia: 1) 2 x caffĆØ latte macchiato 2) 1 x spinach and parmesan omelette 3) 1 x brown toast with beetroot and pomegranate hummus and regular hummus 4) 1 x Slovak cheesecake with berries Restaurant in Bratislava for Breakfast: Mondieu Coffee Shop in Bratislava, Slovakia PanskĆ” 258/27, 811 01 StarĆ© Mesto, Slovakia mondieu.sk +421 905 063 507 Hours: 8AM–11PM (daily - reduced hours Sunday) Bratislava Breakfast & Brunch Guide 🄐 | Best Cafes, Coffee & Cakes in Slovakia’s Capital 🄐 Bratislava Breakfast Guide šŸ‡øšŸ‡° | Best Cafes & What to Order for Brunch in Slovakia’s Capital Join us for a cozy morning in Bratislava as we search for the perfect breakfast spot, sample some delicious food and coffee, and chat about what makes a great brunch experience in Slovakia! Whether you’re visiting for a day or a week, here’s your insider look at where to eat, what to expect, and how to enjoy a leisurely start to your day in this charming Central European capital. ā˜•ļø Breakfast Hunting in Bratislava Our morning started with a little trial and error: the first cafe was way too loud to film and the second had awkward lighting and cramped seating. Tip: Not every good restaurant is a good place for vlogging! If you’re filming, look for places with soft background music, good lighting, and a bit of privacy. šŸ„– Settling in at Mondieu CafĆ© We finally found Mondieu, one of Bratislava’s most popular breakfast and cake spots. Menu Highlights: Diverse selection including pancakes, French toast, omelets, and a beautiful display of cakes and pastries. Traditional Slovak Breakfast: Usually includes sausage, but we opted for lighter, more contemporary options this time. šŸ« Ultimate Cafe Latte Macchiato with Chocolate We both ordered the legendary cafe latte macchiato with chocolate. Visual appeal: Beautiful layered presentation, topped with frothy milk and swirls of melted chocolate. Taste: Like a warm latte milkshake—rich, thick, decadent, and no extra sugar needed! Rating: Instantly crowned the best coffee we’ve had on our Europe trip, even rivaling Irish coffee or Baileys but without the booze. Weather Note: The warm drink was perfect for a chilly Bratislava autumn day. šŸ³ Our Breakfast Plates: Scrambled Eggs & Hummus Toast Scrambled Eggs with Parmesan & Baby Spinach Served piping hot with brown bread and a side salad. Cheesy, comforting, and ideal for cool mornings. Twist: Not your typical Slovak breakfast, but a satisfying, modern alternative. Food Quirk: Sam likes to eat eggs with jam on toast—a sweet and savory combo that sparks debate! Colorful Hummus Toast Duo Two generous slices: one with classic hummus, the other with beetroot hummus and pomegranate. Thick spreads, vibrant flavors; beetroot hummus was a sweet and unexpected favorite. Drizzled with olive oil for extra richness. šŸ° Dessert for Breakfast: Fruit Cheesecake We couldn’t resist a slice of Mondieu’s fruit cheesecake. Texture: Creamy, smooth, melts in your mouth—best enjoyed slowly. Confession: Technically lunch since we woke up late (chocolate and wine the night before, anyone?), but who’s judging? Pro Tip: Mondieu is a great spot for breakfast, a midday treat, or afternoon cake. šŸ’ø Price Point & Value Total for Two: 18 Euros for two coffees, two mains, and a slice of cheesecake. Verdict: Excellent value for a gourmet, memorable breakfast in Bratislava’s city center. 🧄 Bratislava in Autumn: A Cozy Morning The weather turned chilly, making warm drinks and hearty food extra comforting. Travel Tip: Don’t forget your sweater and winter hat in fall—layers are your friend in Slovakia! After breakfast, we headed back to the apartment for more layers and a little downtime before more sightseeing. šŸ“ Final Thoughts & Recommendations Mondieu is a must-visit for anyone seeking a high-quality, relaxing breakfast or brunch in Bratislava. The atmosphere is welcoming, the coffee is next-level, and the cakes are irresistible.
