#airfryer #recipes #vegan Try this crispy, delicious Air Fryer Recipe - crispy tofu parmesan with garlic pasta. So yum. Air Fryer Recipe Crispy Tofu Parmesan 2 packs of firm or extra firm tofu Squeeze all water out with a tofu press or using a clean dish towel Slick each tofu lengthwise so not as thick, to make 4 thin pieces Tofu Marinade: In a glass container, add: 1/3 cup of oil – I used avocado oil 1/3 cup of water 1 tbsp Italian seasoning 1 tbsp basil 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tbsp of nutritional yeast Mix well Add tofu pieces, ensuring well coated in mixture Close container and refrigerate for 2 hours. After 1 hour, turn and rotate pieces to ensure even coating. Tomato Sauce: In a pot over medium heat, add some water or oil Also add: ½ onion, chopped 2 cups of tomato sauce or spaghetti sauce 1 chopped tomato 1 tbsp Italian seasoning 3-5 basil leaves – chopped (or dried basil is ok too) 1 tbsp of chopped garlic (or garlic powder) Optional: satl & pepper to taste Coating for Tofu: In a bowl, add: 1 cup of chickpea flour 1 tbsp dried basil 2 tbsp of nutritional yeast ½ cup of vegan parmesan Mix well Also need ¾ cup of plant milk – unflavoured and unsweetened. Do not add to chickpea flour mixture. Keep in separate bowl. One by one, add a piece of tofu to the chickpea flour mixture, then dip into plant milk, then dip again for the second time into chickpea flour mixture. Add to a greased air fryer tray. Do not overcrowd air fryer, only fry a few at a time. Air fry at 390F for 10 minutes. At this point, make some pasta as per package instructions. After 10 minutes of tofu in air fryer, take out and brush lightly with oil and pop back for another 2-5 minutes, depending on how crispy you want them. Keep an eye on them, and don’t let them burn. Once pasta is ready, drain and add oil, basil and garlic powder. Add rest of vegan parmesan container (about ½ cup) Mix well. Now for the tofu, add some vegan cheese to each tofu if you want and pop back in air fryer at 390F for 1-2 minutes just to melt the cheese. Do not let it burn. Now to plate it: Add pasta, tofu, tomato sauce. Enjoy!
